Brenda Lattimore
Early years consultant and mentor, Part-time lecturer at DCU, Doctor of Education candidate
I’m an experienced mentor, consultant, and educator with over 20 years of experience in early years education. My work spans all aspects of early years practice—from creating rich learning environments and planning responsive curricula to supporting intentional teaching and documenting learning.
With a background as both an educator and manager in early childhood settings, I’ve worked closely with children, families, educators, and students to foster meaningful, developmentally grounded learning experiences.
My focus is on empowering educators. Through practical, context-based learning and high-quality professional development, I help early years professionals strengthen their knowledge, pedagogy, planning, and reflective practice. I collaborate with teams to build dynamic, child-centred environments that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and community impact.
In addition to my consultancy and mentoring work, I lecture part-time at Dublin City University and deliver workshops for County Childcare Committees. My academic foundation includes paediatric nursing, nutrition, a Master’s in Early Years Education, and ongoing doctoral research in STEM education at DCU.
